Mike Hartnett

Program Manager

Prior to joining PATS, Mike was a Base Camp Force Protection Security Coordinator in Iraq for Kellogg, Brown & Root (KBR). As the Force Protection Officer, he was responsible for providing leadership and supervision for a 30-person Iraqi security guard force assigned to secure KBR personnel and equipment.

Mike began his career with the US Army and has over twenty years of leadership experience. He has a strong background in Special Forces operations as an intelligence analyst, weapons specialist, and directing the US Embassy security force protection programs. Mike is a fluent Bi-lingual Spanish speaker and has extensive experience in Central and South America. He has implemented security standard operating procedures for security planning, threat analysis, vulnerability analysis, and developed mitigating options for the identified threats.

Mike played a pivotal role in the start-up of the non-intrusive cargo container security scanning program in Puerto Cortes, Honduras. Mike was responsible for hiring, training personnel, deploying, and maintenance of the non-intrusive scanning equipment at Puerto Cortes. The operation also includes radiation portal monitoring to comply with the US Customs Secure Freight Initiative (SFI) and the US Megaports program. Mike is the PATS representative for liaison with the Honduran Government Customs, Puerto Cortes Port Authority agencies, US Customs government representatives, and all Shipping companies that operate within the port.

Mike holds an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Champlain Junior College in Burlington, Vermont. Mike has graduated from an array of US Army Advanced Leadership courses that include Anti-Terrorism, Force Protection, Advanced Non-Commissioned Officers School, Ranger Training, and Jumpmaster Airborne school.
